Will Preston is a Singer-Songwriter, Entrepreneur, from Atlanta, USA. He was recently interviewed by Famo Celebrity Magazine and below is the Q&A session, we had with him.
Introduction – Can you tell us a bit about your yourself?
I’m a recording artist, songwriter, and entrepreneur. As a recording artist, I create soulful R&B and Pop music that explores love, growth, vulnerability, and self awareness. Alongside music, I’m the founder of a lifestyle brand called My Best Interest Apparel, which reflects the same mindset I bring to my music. Everything I do is rooted in purpose, quality, and authenticity.
Personal Background – Can you share a little experience about your upbringing and early life?
I grew up in a close-knit environment where music, faith, and family were always present. Music was a constant backdrop to everyday life, and I gravitated toward it naturally. I spent a lot of time listening, observing, and absorbing different sounds and stories. Those early experiences shaped how I connect emotion to music today. Even before I understood it as a career path, music was a significant aspect of my life.
Career and Achievements – What do you consider the highlights of your career so far?
Releasing my debut project, It’s My Will, independently and seeing it resonate with listeners around the world was a major milestone. I’m also proud of the longevity of my catalog. Songs I released years ago are still being discovered and appreciated today. Charting internationally, collaborating with respected producers, and building a global audience without compromising my creative identity are highlights that stand out.
Challenges and Growth – What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in your career, and how did you overcome them?
One of the biggest challenges has been navigating the industry independently. Without a major machine behind you, every decision carries more weight. I overcame those challenges by staying consistent, trusting my instincts, and continuing to invest in my craft. Growth came from resilience and learning to see obstacles as part of the process, not the end of the road. I’ve enjoyed it all.
Passions and Hobbies – What are your interests and hobbies outside of your career?
I’m an avid reader and enjoy podcasts that explore business strategies, true crime, entrepreneurship, psychology, creativity, and personal development. I also appreciate travel, great conversations, and experiences that inspire reflection. I really enjoy cooking and experimenting in the kitchen. Fashion is another interest, which naturally led to launching My Best Interest Apparel. Anything that sharpens my perspective or fuels creativity tends to hold my attention.
Milestones and Future Goals – What are some of the milestones you hope to achieve in the coming years?
I’m focused on releasing new music that reflects my growth as an artist. I also want to continue expanding my brand in a meaningful way, both musically and entrepreneurially. Long term, I hope to deepen my global reach, collaborate with artists I admire, and build a legacy that represents independence, excellence, and intention.
Life Lessons – What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned in your life or career?
The most valuable lesson I’ve learned is to trust yourself. External validation comes and goes, but your inner compass has to be solid. When you move with intention and stay aligned with your values, the right opportunities eventually find you.
Advice for Aspiring Artists – What advice would you give to young artists looking to make a mark in the industry?
Focus on developing you. Be patient with your growth and stay consistent even when results are not immediate. Authenticity lasts longer than trends, and ownership of your work is powerful. Stay true to your unique artistry.
