Beth Hubbard is one of the UK’s most compelling emerging singer-songwriters, known for her rich, powerful vocals and emotionally charged songwriting. Drawing comparisons to Hayley Williams and Alanis Morissette, Beth blends the raw energy of alternative rock with sharp pop sensibilities, taking inspiration from artists like Paramore, HAIM, Chappell Roan, and Holly Humberstone.
Hailing from East Yorkshire, Beth began her musical journey at the age of 10 when she first picked up a guitar. By 15, she had become a regular fixture on the local music scene, performing her original songs and standout covers at venues and on live radio shows across the region. Her distinct voice, stage presence, and lyrical depth quickly marked her as a rising talent.
Beth’s sound fuses punchy indie-rock influences with polished pop production, providing a powerful backdrop for lyrics that are both deeply personal and socially conscious. A former Nottinghamshire’s Got Talent winner, Beth is celebrating her debut release ‘’Nothing New’’ On Big Condo Records.
1- What inspired your debut single, “Nothing New”?
A multitude of past relationships. It’s no shock to anybody who’s listened to any of my past songs, that a lot of of what I write about is a reflection on exes and heartbreak. This song was the collation of years of trauma and things I repressed, with a little bit of a tongue and cheek take on the fact that, even though things never really went well romantically for me in the past, now I’ve moved past that, and I’ve forgiven myself for letting people hurt me. This single, in my opinion, is the beginning of a new era of musical inspiration and things to focus on and it was a nice way to tie that off with a bow.
2- How has your life changed since signing with Big Condo Records?
Since signing, musically, my life has changed so much. Not only do I get a lot of more traction online which is lovely but I was able to put out music for the first time in years. I’m not only lucky enough to have had a launch party but it also sold out! It’s made me feel a lot more creative and a lot more musically inspired as well as having built up my confidence in myself.
3- What’s it like working with your manager, Royzy Rothschild?
It’s been a really great experience. Royzy gives me a lot of creative freedom and always confers with me with dates, gigs etc. It’s also nice to work with somebody that has such a lengthy career and experience in this industry. He knows what he’s on about and that not only puts me at ease but also makes me excited to see where we will go in the future! His love for Pink Pony Club is also the cherry on top.
4- How does it feel hearing your song played on radio around the world?
It’s a bit of a surreal experience. I’ve had local radio players before but nothing on this scale! It’s nice to know that my music is not only being heard by lots of different people but potentially inspiring others and making them feel heard.
5- Your launch party sold out—what was that experience like?
The single launch was better than I could’ve even asked for. So many of my friends and family, and fans that they didn’t even know I had, came out to celebrate the release of my new track. It felt like a very full circle moment, after working so hard for the best part of 10 years to reach a point where I got to have a glimpse of what my life really could be going forward. I can’t wait for the next single and honestly, if I can even sell even out half of the next venue it would still be an amazing experience. I won’t lie though; I have a bit of a taste for it now!
6- What’s been the most unexpected moment in your music journey so far?
I don’t know if it’s been one specific event or thing that’s happened, but I would say one thing that has surprised me is my resilience and ability to just keep pushing. This industry is hard and if you want to make your mark, you must be willing to go the extra mile, and I am proud of myself. With the support of my label, my friends and family, I’ve been able to keep going. That’s been something I didn’t expect to see such a reward from so quickly and I’m so grateful.
7- If you had to describe “Nothing New” in three words, what would they be?
Melancholic, reflective, cathartic.
8- Who are your biggest musical influences?
Orla Gartland, Holly Humberstone, Paramore, HAIM, Fleetwood Mac, Chappell Roan, the list goes on!
9- What’s next for you after this release?
I’ll be getting back in the studio soon for the next single. I’m very much looking forward to this, and I can’t wait for you to hear what we come up with and the next instalment in Beth Hubbard’s music career.
10- What message do you hope fans take away from your music?
Work hard and you will see the rewards. It might not be instantaneous, but it is so worth the wait and the perseverance. I’m nearly 30 and I didn’t see this happening for me, but I kept going and I’m so glad I did. If you’re going into this industry, be willing to put the hard work in and make sure that, under all of it, you love what you’re doing. That’s the most important.
Big massive shout out to my manager and the whole team at Big Condo Records, We the Label….
