Dean Connelly is the host of the British podcast “Directed by Dean”. Dean was recently interviewed by Famo Celebrity Magazine and below is the Q&A session we had with him.
Introduction – Can you tell us a bit about your yourself?
My name is Dean. I am the cofounder and main host of the Directed by Dean podcast. I’m 42 years of age and I love movies, gaming & I love collecting Funko pops.
Career and Achievements – What do you consider the Highlights of your Career so far?
Well starting my own podcast to begin with and having 2 cohosts to join me on an epic adventure of movies and gaming sometimes. It’s not just about the journey it’s the company you keep and we just work. All the interviews I’ve done I did my first big company interview last summer. I went to a screening for the new A24 movie Warfare last week and I’m hosting my first Q&A session soon as well as dream interviews with Radha Mitchell and William Sadler. The biggest challenge is keeping your product fresh which I try to do and mix it up between topics quizzes and best guesses. Or something that’s trending.
Milestones and Future Goals – What are some of the Milestones you hope to Achieve in the coming years?
Honestly the goals of the future are endless. I have dreams that I want to achieve and ideas I think will be successful and I see the podcast with the right direction expanding into places I never dreamed of. But ‘never let your ambition exceed your worth.’
Life Lessons – What is the most Valuable Lesson you’ve learned in your Life or Career?
If you get nervous don’t worry it’s normal. Not everyone will support you or share your goals and dreams. Sometimes to achieve something you have to be prepared to leave what you know behind if there is no option. It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose.
The journey of building yourself up is harder then people will admit you will get rejected from all angles whatever the reason but the key is not to lose hope believe in your product and in time the results will come.
Advice for Aspiring Artists – What advice would you give to Young Artists looking to make a Mark in the Industry?
Believe in yourself your product & whatever the vision you have, have faith in it results will come and don’t lose hope even if it seems hopeless.
Talent can’t be faked and sometimes you’ll be surprised at the results.
