Msb Mario ‘El Niño de la Pili’

On Friday 13th December, Barcelona experienced one of the most memorable nights of the year at PNC Radio, where the Unplugged BBondagge event brought with it an evening full of talent and originality. From the atmosphere decorated with candles and balloons, to the vibrant performance of each artist, the night promised and delivered.

The evening began with a performance by TVNoize, who captivated the audience with their carefully selected vinyl. His ability to convey emotions through music enveloped the audience in an aural journey that, although nostalgic, created a fresh and energising atmosphere, ideal to get the party started.

Next, renowned DJ In:Control took over with his electrifying set of dancehall and house beats, whose infectious energy encouraged everyone in the room to move to his vibrant beats. The mix of genres and styles kept the spark of the night alive, sending the crowd into a state of euphoria.

After the preliminaries, Rock nd Roll band Perkal took the stage, performing a short but captivating set that fused their own songs with acoustic versions. Their exceptional vocals managed to enamour everyone present and laid a solid foundation of melody and emotion, leaving high expectations for the main act.

The highlight of the night came with Msb Mario, also known as ‘El Niño de la Pili’. His performance was not only his longest to date, but also revealed a new melodic side to the artist. With a selection of his most iconic tracks, such as ‘Amae’, ‘Karmen’ and ‘Cute nd Dark’, the connection with the audience was palpable, as Mario lit up the stage with his charisma and crazy moves. One of the most surprising moments was his impromptu version of ‘Polly’, where the artist delved into a unique and personal interpretation that left everyone speechless. As the night progressed, ‘U Said’ broke the mood, and Mario showed his virtuosity by playing the bass in a raw and dirty way. All this accompanied by the excellent guitar, cajon and bass of pfffMarc, who knew how to perfectly accompany the musicality of the set, giving a different touch with his bass in songs like ‘Tim Falkow’. Also worth mentioning is Rich Guido, Mario’s dj accompanist, who in ‘Txrxrx’ showed a special connection with the boy in the hat who makes poetry sound like music.

El Niño de la Pili managed to cover multiple genres, presenting a tour of his most classic repertoire such as ‘No es por ti’, ‘Lontano por dentro’, ‘Robbow, “U” or the unreleased “Estankera de Vallecas” which culminated with Spanish classics such as “El Vaquilla” and “Dame Veneno”. He also added that catchy song that people can’t seem to stop dancing to, ‘Danse sur le Pie’. Mario also surprised everyone by stopping the set to meditate with the audience live and in livestream. Next, Msb, on ‘Dorme Bu’, again showed why he’s now a standout performer in the crowd. His electrifying presence and energetic moves, coupled with an aggressiveness never seen before, smashing guitars, cameras, spitting, etc, turned the event into a historic chapter, marking a milestone as the first writer to perform on a techno and electronica station like PNC Radio.

He closed the night with ‘Me Arrebuyea’, which, as usual in Mario, was presented in a surprising way, crowning an evening that remained engraved in the memory and the hearts of the attendees.

The Unplugged BBondagge event was not only a celebration of music, but a heartfelt tribute to local talent and the connection that can be created through it. With performances that will resonate for a long time to come, it has established itself as an unforgettable experience in Barcelona’s vibrant music scene. Undoubtedly, an event that left its mark and promises to be repeated.
