Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I am an academic and diplomat currently serving as the Andean Parliament Special Envoy for Education and as the ambassador and permanent representative of the House of Feigenblatt to the Central American Parliament.
What do you consider the Highlights of your Career so far?
It was truly an honor to serve as the ambassador and deputy permanent observer of the International Youth Organization to the United Nations during the 77th general assembly of the United Nations. Another important highlight of my career was being knighted by His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain with the Order of Isabella the Catholic for my contributions to the social sciences. Nevertheless, the greatest honor of my career has been to be appointed as the Andean Parliament Special Envoy for Education by the Secretary General.
What are some of the Challenges you’ve faced in your Career, and how did you Overcome them?
The greatest challenge for me has always been to transform my vision into a tangible reality. I always think outside of the box and my vision tends to be very ambitious. It is a challenge to help my team translate this into tangible steps to achieve my vision. I managed to overcome this challenge by working with a diverse team which balances those who help me with the task of innovating and those who help me manage the implementation of specific steps and processes.
What are your Interests and Hobbies outside of your Career?
I love to travel all over the world with my family. Exploring the pyramids of Egypt one day, visiting the ancient ruins of Tulum on another, and then relaxing in the quiet streets of Florence. The world is such a wonderfully diverse place that it does not matter how many times I visit a city, I can always see it from a different perspective.
What are some of the Milestones you hope to Achieve in the coming years?
As the Andean Parliament Special Envoy for Education and as the Head of the House of Feigenblatt, it is my goal to promote education all over the world. More specifically, I would like to serve as an international champion for education. It is my goal to help students in developing countries achieve their dreams by facilitating access to educational opportunities such as scholarships for higher education. I also aim to continue my research career and to author several books dealing with core issues in higher education.
What is the most Valuable Lesson you’ve learned in your Life or Career?
The most valuable lesson that I have learned in my life is that persistence and hard work lead to success. Only those who are willing to give that extra effort make it to the top.
