Patricia Soledad is a musical theater singer, actress, and dancer based in New York City. She was recently interviewed by Famo Celebrity Magazine and below is the Q&A session we had with her.

Introduction – Can you tell us a bit about your yourself?

My name is Patricia Soledad and I am a musical theater singer, actress, and dancer based in New York City. I grew up in Davao City, Philippines and started vocal training at 14 and dance training at 15. In 2019, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology and I taught Social Studies and English for 3 years. I trained at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy under their Musical Theater Conservatory program and I graduated in February 2025.

Personal Background – Can you share a little experience about your Upbringing and Early Life?

I was only born in Cebu City and lived my whole life in Davao. I would say that it helped me adjust to city life here in New York. When I moved to Manhattan, it didn’t really feel like an unfamiliar place. It just felt like home. I lived in a very supportive but hardworking environment. My family instilled in me this sense of having a strong work ethic, like being organized, be flexible, don’t take on more than you can, and always be better than your best. My whole family is incredibly supportive. My mother especially. She was, and still is, a very supportive figure in my life. She is the number one cheerleader. That’s actually what helped me be fearless in my decisions. She never really shamed me for mistakes, instead, she always turned it into a positive thing. Like “oh, you didn’t get it? That’s fine, something else will come along” or “at least you tried. That’s better than not trying at all”. It really makes navigating this industry a lot easier emotionally because I learned from a young age how to be kind to myself.

Career and Achievements – What do you consider the Highlights of your Career so far?

I would say it’s being able to perform in an original show in New York City. It’s one of the greatest cities in the world of theater and to be part of original work is something that I always wanted to achieve for myself.

Challenges and Growth – What are some of the Challenges you’ve faced in your Career, and how did you Overcome them?

Being an authentic human being when you’re telling a story. Even though we are performing imagined circumstances, the stories we tell are real. You can’t fake being a person. I’m constantly trying to work on communicating a story with authenticity and understanding rather than being a textbook perfect performer.

Passions and Hobbies – What are your Interests and Hobbies outside of your Career?

I love to cook. I’m a little adventurous when it comes to food so I’m always trying new things. I’m currently on a Filipino food kick. Food in the Philippines during Christmas is always the best.

Milestones and Future Goals – What are some of the Milestones you hope to Achieve in the coming years?

I would love to be in a show that is on a multiple show week schedule. Doing more than 1 show a week takes stamina. I want to experience what it’s like being in a character and telling the same story repeatedly. It allows me to explore, to play, and discover new choices.

Life Lessons – What is the most Valuable Lesson you’ve learned in your Life or Career?

Live life according to your standards. If we try so hard to be perfect we lose the essence of who we are.

Advice for Aspiring Artists – What advice would you give to Young Artists looking to make a Mark in the Industry?

Be yourself. As cliche as it sounds, it’s true. Your story, your fears and desires, your aspirations are what shape your human experience and when we bring a character to life, we are bringing an experience to life. Don’t fake being yourself.
