Will Preston was recently interviewed by Famo Celebrity Magazine and below is the Q&A session we had with him.
Introduction – Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I’m a R&B/Pop recording artist and the founder of My Best Interest Apparel. I’ve always had a deep passion for music, storytelling, and creative expression. Whether it’s through a song or now through my clothing line, my goal is always to connect with people on an emotional level. I believe in showing up with authenticity and intention in everything I create.
Personal Background – Can you share a little experience about your Upbringing and Early Life?
I grew up in a small town, raised with big dreams and a lot of drive. Music was always around me, whether it was church, the radio, family gatherings, or in my spare time. I learned early on that creativity leads to inspiration. I think the mix of small-town roots and big-city ambition is what shaped my journey.
Career and Achievements – What do you consider the Highlights of your Career so far?
One major highlight was releasing my debut project It’s My Will, which really marked the beginning of my journey as an independent artist. More recently, I dropped Merry Go Round, a deeply emotional ballad that’s resonated with so many people. On the fashion side, launching My Best Interest Apparel and seeing the response to it has been surreal, and while it’s still new in comparison to my music, it’s become a true extension of my artistry.
Challenges and Growth – What are some of the Challenges you’ve faced in your Career, and how did you Overcome them?
I can’t say that there have been an overwhelming number of challenges. Learning the industry requires focus, which can be a steep learning curve. Perhaps the constant need to self-motivate and allow yourself to serve as the navigator can be overwhelming if you’re not centered. But I’d say that the biggest challenge has been trusting the process even when progress feels slow. I’ve learned to embrace the journey, celebrate the small wins, and stay consistent. Growth comes from not quitting. Don’t be consumed with “the industry”. Enjoying what you do is the key.
Passions and Hobbies – What are your Interests and Hobbies outside of your Career?
I’m a huge fan of concerts as you can probably imagine—I love going to live shows. Watching others perform and seeing them in their creative vibe is inspiring. I also enjoy traveling, working out, reading, sports events, food, and just vibing out with good music and good people. Anything that feeds the soul or sparks creativity is my kind of thing.
Milestones and Future Goals – What are some of the Milestones you hope to Achieve in the coming years?
I’m working toward releasing my next full-length album, which has been in the works for a while now. And of course, continuing to grow My Best Interest Apparel into a globally recognized lifestyle brand.
Life Lessons – What is the most Valuable Lesson you’ve learned in your Life or Career?
The most valuable lesson I’ve learned is that consistency beats perfection. You don’t have to have it all figured out—you just have to keep showing up with purpose. Trust your voice, trust your vision, and keep building, even when it feels like no one’s watching.
Advice for Aspiring Artists – What advice would you give to Young Artists looking to make a Mark in the Industry?
Protect your authenticity. It’s easy to get caught up in trends or external validation, but what sets you apart is you. Hone your craft, be patient with the process, and remember: the most powerful art comes from a place of truth.

* Favorite book or movie name?
There are many, but The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is a timeless and inspiring book that comes to mind. The Shawshank Redemption and The Color Purple are my favorite movies.
* One word to describe yourself?
Intentional.
* If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be?
This is just too tough. I have a list. Martin Luther King Jr would definitely be one. I’d love to soak up his genius and fearlessness.
* Favorite travel destination?
Anywhere with rich culture, amazing views, and great food.
