Sudeep Ranjan Sarkar is a director, actor, writer, painter from India. He was recently interviewed by Famo Celebrity Magazine and below is the Q&A session we had with him.
Introduction – Can you tell us a bit about your yourself?
I am a man who would die if there was no art. I live and die for art. I live for challenges. Creating movies, writing stories, poetry, painting, photography, business and anything that might benefit the world and people in general, I am game for it. As an individual I value time, I love time and yet I am immensely afraid of it.

Personal Background – Can you share a little experience about your Upbringing and Early Life?
I was born in a small coal mining town named Dhanbad and was born in a modest family that prioritized education. My father was a mining engineer and my mother a homemaker. I have a younger sister who is now an Author. I guess creativity runs in my family. Even though I was born and raised in a small town yet I was put to the best educational institution what opened my mind to world views and the world of literature. Born in the 70s, it was a time of innocence and yet dreams. I was always drawn to Opera and cinema. To be an astronaut was easier than to be in cinema, yet I am here.
Career and Achievements – What do you consider the Highlights of your Career so far?
I don’t look at a particular event as a career highlight. Rather I see each achievement, big or small have propelled me to where I am today.

Challenges and Growth – What are some of the Challenges you’ve faced in your Career, and how did you Overcome them?
I came from a complete non-Film background. Knowing practically no one, not having attended any film school, nor having interned under any filmmaker, what I sought for myself is practically unheard of and next to impossible. I worked with non stars and mostly new comers, yet I broke every rule of the game and created a separate system of my own. I not just made movies for myself or set up a production company, I also set up two Film festivals which today are models of innovation and support independent voices. I think my legacy is that I enabled others. I made five feature movies with smartphone which I think is a global record. My achievement has been in pushing the envelope.

Passions and Hobbies – What are your Interests and Hobbies outside of your Career?
I don’t have any hobbies and interests outside my career. My interests are my career and vice versa. To meet new people, strike up conversation, to experience various cultures and diversity is my singular interest.
Milestones and Future Goals – What are some of the Milestones you hope to Achieve in the coming years?
My immediate goals are to make my media company a cutting edge technology and AI driven profitable business and also create innovative solutions for the planet in the field of education, sustainability and growth with cultural participation. I am seeking to create a unified bridge to bring people of diversity and various cultural heritage in togetherness. We can coexist with our uniqueness.

Life Lessons – What is the most Valuable Lesson you’ve learned in your Life or Career?
My lessons are, I believe in people and the goodness of humanity. Business, technology everything comes secondary. Invest in people and greatest empires can be built.
Secondly I believe in this axiom, it isn’t over yet till I ain’t dead yet. I simply keep going.

Advice for Aspiring Artists – What advice would you give to Young Artists looking to make a Mark in the Industry?
I tell young people to trust in the process, not to be too much technology driven, be consistent and create an ecosystem of like minded people. Together we grow.
