So we recently had a talk with buzzing Christian rapper Saint Strick! If you were ever wondering about his thoughts about the industry and getting to know more about his history, you have came to the right place!
1.) What made you want to start your music career as a Christian artist?
I had been making music on and off since I was a teen and after dropping some albums that were secular and going through some personal struggles.
I decided to devote my whole life and music to Jesus Christ.
2.) How do you feel mentally, physically and spiritually after changing and devoting your life to Jesus Christ?
When I was on the fence I was literally losing my mind being a double minded man does that. Now that I’m all in with Christ and walking in the Spirit I still have problems and ups and downs like anyone but I have the power and ability to deal with them based on God’s righteous requirements.
3.) If you could collaborate with your top 5 favorite music artists, who would they be?
1) Sevin
2) Dante
3) Murcy 34
4) Tyson James
5.) Andy Mineo
4.) Where do you see yourself 5 years from now with your music career?
Independently releasing music with more artists under Crossfire Music Ministry
5.) What are your thoughts about the music industry right now?
Theres lots of rappers nowadays selling features for cheap to just about anyone because there ain’t no money in streaming.
Christian rap is on the rise though.
6.) What are your thoughts about autotune?
If it’s used in a decent not over emphasized way just like any other plug in it can enhance a sing or it can ruin it
7.) Which other types of genres were you thinking about getting into?
l actually was working on a song that was kinda like reggae/Rap Choir. Then there’s Crossfire which is the name of a duo made up of me and my long time friend Chuck Jackson who is a guitarist and has played for many Punk Rock bands in his time.
8.) Do you feel like you could change something or no?
Yes there’s always room for growth.
I would have to say that I can improve my visuals and melodies.
9.) Do you know how to mix a master and report on your own?
Yes I produce my own instrumentals. I mix them all down and I master and export the files myself.
10.) If you could pick ONE genre, which would it be that you would want to get rid of?
Mumble rap. But honestly I just think that it’s pretty much disappearing already. But never liked the fact that there’s no signs of intelligence in it.
