Lilia A’Hearn is the title holder of Mrs. Washington for Petite USA. She was recently interviewed by Famo Celebrity Magazine and below is the Q&A session we had with her.
Introduction – Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I am from the pacific northwest from the state of washington. I am married to the love of my life and we have two boys and a baby girl on the way. I graduated with a business management major, operate my Liliacreativity photography business, and run a non profit called Foster Love where I offer free pictures to children and those that have been adopted. Every child deserves a smile in a photograph. I am currently holding the title of Mrs. Washington and preparing to compete with Petite USA this summer.
Personal Background – Can you share a little experience about your Upbringing and Early Life?
In highschool I was always an honor student and graduated on the top 5 from and participated in speech and debate, drama class and track. My education and community service has been one of my main focuses and being close to my family. I also participated in Miss Thurston county pageant and won the talent portion.
Career and Achievements – What do you consider the Highlights of your Career so far?
Becoming Mrs. Washington and being part of Petite USA. It is an honor to be part of such an inspiring organization where I can share my talent and leadership skills with my platform. In addition, I have been excelling in my photography business and growing each year. This year I was booked almost all year and was published in five magazine front page covers. I have also been published by Photohouse magazine front page and been recognized in my photography business. My social media is also growing and gaining more followers and recognition for my photography and editing skills.
Challenges and Growth – What are some of the Challenges you’ve faced in your Career, and how did you Overcome them?
Managing clients to always be satisfied with my photography results and making sure they are happy has been a challenge as there are always unforeseen situations. I have grown to be patient and willing to give more of myself to make sure I keep the integrity and reputation of my work and as a person.
Passions and Hobbies – What are your Interests and Hobbies outside of your Career?
Enjoy watching movies with my husband and going out on dates such as swing dancing or eating out. I also have a passion for art such as water coloring and sketching people, modeling and of course, I love traveling to tropical beaches to escape the cold winters and being pampered at beauty salons. Selfcare is extremely important for me.
Milestones and Future Goals – What are some of the Milestones you hope to Achieve in the coming years?
To become the next Petite USA, promote my pageant, become a stronger voice for my platform, and connect with other artist sponsors to collaborate with me. I also want to keep upgrading Photography equipment, learning new skills from other photographers and taking online courses, and offer more wedding photography.
Life Lessons – What is the most Valuable Lesson you’ve learned in your Life or Career?
Do not take everything so seriously and just laugh at the hard moments in life. Each day is a challenge and an opportunity to become a better and joyful person.
Advice for Aspiring Artists – What advice would you give to Young Artists looking to make a Mark in the Industry?
Do what you love and it’s a passion of yours. If you are up at 3 am still working on a project whatever that is and you are having so much fun, that’s when you have found your calling. For me, it’s editing and creating art with my pictures.
