This just in: Apoorva Choudhary has officially been selected for the iconic Chicago Horror Film Festival (CHFF) — and horror fans everywhere should be very, very excited.
Since 2003, CHFF has been a sacred ground for indie horror, showcasing the freshest, weirdest, and most blood-curdling talent from across the globe. To be part of this legendary lineup is no small feat — and Apoorva has carved out a spot with a story that’s ready to send shivers down the spines of audiences (in the very best way).
Over the years, the Chicago Horror Film Festival has hosted some seriously impressive names.
Heather Dorff, the indie scream queen herself, snagged Best Actress awards here not once, but twice. Ari Lehman — yes, the first ever Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th — has haunted the festival grounds since the very beginning. Tiffany Shepis, horror royalty, picked up Best Actress in 2008 for Dark Reel. And more recently, Aleks Paunovic, of Van Helsing and War for the Planet of the Apes fame, starred in Puppet Killer, which won Best Feature in 2022.
To be included among such blood-soaked legends? That’s a badge of honor in any horror fan’s handbook (preferably one bound in human skin, but we’ll take a PDF too).
Reflecting on the achievement, Apoorva said with a laugh: “Honestly, I’m thrilled — and maybe a little scared — to be part of the Chicago Horror Film Festival. Horror has always been about pushing limits and surprising audiences, and I’m just excited to be bringing a few nightmares of my own to the party. Here’s hoping I can make audiences scream, squirm, and think… preferably all at once!”
